How to Remove Lamination from Paper
- Sep 18, 2019
You’ve already followed our easy steps for on our How to Laminate Paper blog for the paper or projects you want to protect and reuse. But now you no longer need them to be laminated, however you would still like to keep the paper or project intact without the lamination. Or, did you accidentally mess up the lamination and need to start over again? No need to fear because we’ve created a guide on how to remove lamination from your paper!
Use Scissors
Scissors can be a reliable source when it comes to taking off any lamination job. If the lamination extends further past the edge of the paper, you can use scissors to take it off. Start by making a slit in the lamination and peel the edges off from the paper you were working on. You can even use our very own Stanley 8” non-stick titanium scissors to help remove those pesky errors!
Use an Iron
Using an iron can be another reliable way to fix a lamination project that’s gone wrong. You might be wondering, how? Well, you can start by placing a rag or piece of cloth over the plastic, so that it doesn’t melt, and the heat from the iron will warm the plastic. Once the iron has ran over the cloth a few times, the steam from the iron will help peel the lamination off from the paper.
Use a Blow Dryer
If you don’t have an iron on hand, using a blow dryer is also a technique that can be used to remove lamination. Start by cutting the edges of the lamination and use the blow dryer to blow warm air on to the lamination. Once the lamination is heated and the air is pushing between the paper and plastic, the edges of the lamination will peel away from each other.
We know how frustrating it can be to make a mistake on something you need to laminate perfectly, so we hope these tips help! Let us know if you’ve used one of these methods by giving us a shout out on twitter!
